Two three-storey apartment buildings were erected using iSPAN’s TotalJoist system, resulting in 62 units designed for young professionals, young families, seniors and empty nesters.
iSPAN worked with Parkview Homes in the planning, design and fabrication of the materials, then also trained the installation crews on the cold-formed steel flooring system, which was installed with ease and speed otherwise impossible.
Using our 14” 16-gauge wood-sheathed TotalJoist solution, iSPAN was able to achieve a practically continuous 30’ span from the building corridor to the exterior walls. TotalJoist also took advantage of the service holes that come pre-punched, and avoided the need for additional bulkheads.
Builder Parkview Homes also sought TotalJoist because of its vibration-controlled floors. Using iSPAN’s proprietary software, we studied the vibration effects of the supporting structure, based on real-world testing of actual buildings.
