The Capitol Theatre, designated as a National Historic Site in 2016, debuted in 1930 as a premium Canadian entertainment venue and is currently undergoing an exciting transformation.
To meet the theatre’s future needs, a two-storey expansion and renovation is in the works to expand its lobby space, build a new rehearsal hall, enlarge spaces for community use, install more washrooms and much more.
To accomplish this, iSPAN was brought on board to provide products that span large rooms in the building, and solve floor and roof challenges quickly while being mindful of donors’ valuable dollars. iSPAN’s Composite TotalJoist flooring system was used for the theatre’s second floor, while TotalJoist tied into wood structural supports for the roof, topped with Total-Lewis-Deck for perfect installation.
